1. “A” List And “B” List, Maybe Even “C” List
There is a limit to how many guests can attend your wedding, so how do you give all the right people invitations without hurting some peoples feelings? One way is to make two separate mailings. The first mailing is to all the people you want at your wedding. Make the RSVP deadline far enough from the wedding date to send another set of invitations to the second group. The second group is the people who want to come but were not on the firs list. And after all the RSVP’s have come back you may have room for a third mailing.
2. Midday Vs. Night Time ![Midday Party IMG_2320-Edit]()
Midday receptions can be a lot of fun but they never have the party atmosphere that night receptions have. I have seen a number of midday reception where the bride wanted and expected more people to dance. Large groups of people tend to need the lights down low to fill the dance floor for more than one song at a time and this is hard to achieve in the middle of the day. So if you are expecting a lot of dancing it will happen much more naturally at a night reception.
It is not impossible to have a great party in the middle of the day and the picture above is from a wedding that proves it.
3. A Bad DJ Is Never A Good Deal![IMG_1584]()
The DJ can’t make the reception great alone but they can ruin the reception all by themselves. If they play the wrong first dance song everyone will be embarrassed to be a part of that awkward moment. If their speaker system is not powerful enough for your reception hall all the music may come out sounding bad. If there is one place to spend a little extra I recommend spending it on a good DJ.
